How bees make honey

We have been learning about explanations and bees. I have created an animation using google slides. I then used screencastify to explain how bees make honey.

This is how to make pikelets.

The delicious pikelets

Have you ever tasted pikelets? Pikelets are a sweet fluffy treat.

First, get all your ingredients together. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl.

Secondly, in another bowl beat the egg and sugar with a whisk until pale and thick.

Thirdly, add the egg mixture and the milk to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Finally, gently heat a nonstick frying pan and drop tablespoonfuls of the mixture from the point of the spoon onto the surface. When bubbles start to burst on the top of the pikelets turn them over and cook the second side until golden. Place them on a clean tea towel to cool.

Honeybees

We have been learning how to find facts in a book. I have created a google drawing to show some of the facts I have learnt.

The Sun

We have been learning how to make notes and then write the notes into our own sentences. We used a video, a journal story and two web pages to find information out about the sun. Here are some of the facts I learnt. 

Mountain to the sea shoe box

We have been learning how to show our learning of a mountain to the sea in a shoe box. 

I have enjoyed making the mountain out of cardboard.

We have been learning how to write different types of poems like a monster poem and a rhyming poem.
